GOAL - Giving Open Access to Learning has been working to engage under-served students from East Harlem in high quality enrichment programming for the last 10 years.
According to their classroom teachers, students in GOAL:
- Have better attendance than their peers
- Complete their homework more regularly
- Are less likely to be suspended, held back a year, or required to take summer school
- Have better attendance than their peers not involved with GOAL
- Are participating more in class
- Are performing at a higher level than their peers not involved with GOAL
